The Dreamers
A collaborative short film by Beatrice Dadswell and Nina Farrell for The Wing Assignment.
When I dream of flying, I’m underwater. When I swim I am free, weightless, graceful. Negativity disappears, energy shifts and my thoughts go deeper. Under the water is when I feel the most connected to creativity.
In this film we explore freedom in confinement. Fabric moves with fluidity, twisting around the figure with an ethereal quality.
In Lockdown, time has shifted day and night merge, we are living in a dreamlike reality.
I wanted to work with Bea on this project, she’s 16, exams cancelled and in lockdown. She’s also an excellent swimmer, creative, naturally talented at making films and is my neighbour.
Together we collaborated on this film over 3 days. During lockdown we have access to a private pool. I filmed, Bea swam, Bea edited, I (with the help of Asa) recoloured and adjusted the final cut. Bea asked her friend Prosper to create the music track.
All two metres apart.
