“I’ve very much enjoyed participating in the Wing Assignment Project as birds, feathers, wings and flight play a significant role in my artwork and in my personal mythology, and I’m sure the wings will continue to inspire further ideas and work for some time to come.”
“At the core of my art is a strong connection to nature, to the spirits of animals and plants and rocks. Inspiration may come from anywhere: an animal’s muscle, sinew, wing or feather, the colour and texture of lichen, the shape and beauty of a mushroom, the silent flight of an owl, the solidity of a stone, wind on my skin, the toothy smile of La Catrina, the realization that everything is alive and significant.”
